June 2008 | David Andreozzi Chosen to Design Residentially Focused Classes at 2009 AIA Convention

David Andreozzi (Andreozzi Architects aka Zoophorus,) is working with Luis Jauregui, Architect, from Austin to develop a complete afternoon of residentially based courses for the 2009 AIA Convention in San Francisco. David has been an active participant with AIA’s CRAN (Custom Residential Architects Network) and a speaker at the last CRAN Full Spectrum Practice Symposium in Chicago. The CRAN afternoon will be part of entire day of pre convention classes designed for the small architectural practices. The day will be co-sponsored by CRAN and SPP (Small Project Practitioners). The morning will include issues common to residential and commercial practitioners such as legal, office, and marketing issues, and then the group will be split in the afternoon into Residential and Commercial subsets.

This single day of course for small practitioners was conceived at a CRAN meeting at the recent AIA Boston conference. David proposed that CRAN to have a separate track of CRAN sponsored courses (which CRAN chooses) within the framework of the AIA convention in response to the lack of residential courses at the national AIA conventions. Kevin Harris, chair of the Advisory Group to Small Project Practitioners suggested that CRAN and Small Project Practitioners co-sponsor a complete day program on the “Pay” day of next year’s national conference in San Francisco that could focus wholly on small practitioner and residential issues. Luis Jaurerui and David Andreozzi were chosen to organize the event along with Kevin.
