Marco & Melvin | Pizza Marvin

A somewhat late holiday watercolor for restaurant Pizza Marvin opened by Jesse Hedberg & Rob Andreozzi.

As explained by Jeese… “The backstory is Rob has a grandfather named Marco and I had a grandfather named Melvin. We put those two together,” says Hedberg. “Then you have mar for the ocean, and vin is wine in both French and Italian languages.”

The two slices are supposed to represent Marco & Melvin!

I want a mulligan on this one, I learned a lot painting it, but missed some obvious details including the exact proportions of the actual pizza slices.

First day of layout at class… Providence Arts Club

Read to roll… a pizza/dough joke.

Starting with the sauce!

Crisping the edges!

Cupping the pepperoni!

The holiday ornament!

Pull it out, its ready to serve.

In truth, I would have done a lot differently including the scale of the pizza slices, the wine glass type, and the checkered paper is too flat. But I love learning.
